Uninsured rate rises in Illinois
Illinois’ uninsured rate inched up last year, according to a new report by Gallup.
The state’s rate increased to 9.3 percent in 2017, up 1.6 percentage points from the previous year’s rate of 7.7 percent. The margin of error for most states was 1 or 2 percentage points.
The rate was still lower than the uninsured rate of 15.5 percent in 2013, the year before the Affordable Care Act exchanges took effect.
Gallup based its numbers on daily surveys conducted from January through December 2017.
