OSF HealthCare colleges of nursing see spike in enrollment | Students achieve outstanding 2023 pass rates

Paving the way for the future of health care workers, OSF HealthCare is pleased to announce a 42% increase in enrollment in the fall 2023 semester in the OSF colleges of nursing. Most of the enrollment has been into the graduate program, with approximately 15% into the undergraduate program, at both Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, and Saint Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford.

Dr. Charlene Aaron, the president of both nursing colleges, says nursing students at both institutions exceeded both the state and national averages on pass rates for their nursing boards (NCLEX).

“I am so proud of our faculty and staff as their support of our nursing students resulted in excellent results in NCLEX pass rate scores for the third quarter. The third quarter result for Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing is 95%, and the third quarter result for Saint Anthony College of Nursing is 100%!” Dr. Aaron said. “Our OSF colleges of nursing are developing nurses with high quality curriculum and excellent clinical opportunities at the medical centers and within the communities of Peoria and Rockford.”

Additionally, OSF HealthCare now offers a 12-month accelerated nursing program. The program started at Saint Francis Medical Center in October 2023 and will be available at Saint Anthony College in February 2024. At the completion of this program, the student will receive a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and will sit for the NCLEX exam shortly after graduation and become a registered nurse.
