From contact tracing to testing to overseeing the safety of schools and businesses, local health departments have played an outsized role in combating the COVID-19 crisis.

But as COVID-19 cases surge, their operations are becoming overwhelmed.

During a Health News Illinois virtual event, leaders from departments from across the state will provide perspective on how they are responding to the pandemic, as well as what steps they are taking to address health disparities that have been further exposed by COVID-19.
