July 31 – Newsmaker Event with DOI Acting Director Ann Gillespie

Ann Gillespie began this spring as the acting director of the Department of Insurance. Before that, she served as a Democratic state senator, representing Arlington Heights and the surrounding community.
She joins the agency as it prepares for several major changes in the insurance sector, including the rollout of a state-based marketplace and further regulations on health plans that operate in Illinois.
Gillespie will join Health News Illinois for a live, virtual event on July 31 to discuss her goals as head of DOI and prepping for the pending changes to the insurance industry.
