Rauner refutes findings of managed care system audit

Gov. Bruce Rauner is questioning the results of an audit released last month that found his Department of Healthcare and Family Services failed to adequately monitor $7.1 billion in Medicaid payments to and by managed care organizations in 2016 and made almost $600,000 in duplicative payments.

Cook County officers train to administer opioid reversal drug

More than 1,900 police officers from 30 departments in Cook County will soon be prepared to administer Narcan, a nasal spray that counteracts the effects of an opioid overdose. Legislation would make it easier for nurses to practice across state lines
