May 24 – The future of mental health access and care
May 24, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am
As COVID-19 lessens its grip, it’s leaving in its wake mounting mental health issues. Demand has soared over the past two years, including for children, and drug overdoses are at all-time highs.
Illinois lawmakers responded to this growing crisis this past Legislative session by increasing funding for providers, taking steps to bolster the workforce and creating a new mental health czar to coordinate efforts among state agencies.
But what other changes are needed to make sustainable improvements to mental healthcare access and coverage? And how will advancements in technology change how patients interact with their provider?
A panel of experts will examine these issues and more at an in-person Health News Illinois event in Chicago on Tuesday, May 24.
Registration and networking starts at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9:00 a.m.
Coffee and light food will be available.
Per MATTER policy, COVID-19 vaccination is required.
