Report details maternal mortality trends in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health recently released a report detailing statewide trends in maternal mortality. The report, which is the first of its kind from the state, found that 73 Illinois women died on average within one year of pregnancy each year. It also found that black women were six times as likely to die of pregnancy-related conditions as white women.
