IDPH reports 6,222 new COVID-19 cases, 20 deaths
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported another 6,222 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total to 423,502.
The state’s death toll is at 9,810 after 20 more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 8.1 percent, a 1.8 percent increase from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 9.7 percent.
There were 68,118 more tests processed during the past day. A total of 7,876,421 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 3,371 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 733 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 722 were in the ICU and 298 patients were on ventilators.
Thirty-five percent of Illinois’ 35,030 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Thirty-five percent of the state’s 3,780 ICU beds were available as were 76 percent of the state’s 5,702 ventilators.
