IDPH reports one-day high of 4,015 new COVID-19 cases
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported a one-day high of 4,015 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, after processing more than 67,000 tests. The state announced 5,368 cases on Sept. 4, but that included several days of non-reported cases due to a slowdown in data processing. Thursday’s total includes, for the first time, antigen tests, as well as molecular tests.
There were 53 more deaths.
The seven-day positivity rate is up to 4.9 percent.
There have now been 331,620 cases and 9,127 deaths.
As of Wednesday night there were 1,932 patients in Illinois hospitals with COVID-19. Of those, 388 patients were in the ICU and 147 were on ventilators.
