Illinois hospitals condemn report finding they provide $1.5 billion less in benefits than tax breaks

Hospitals are condemning a recent report that found 86 percent of the 109 Illinois nonprofit hospitals included in its analysis spent less on financial assistance and community investment than the estimated value of their tax breaks.
