As of Sunday, 1,439 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, up 47 from Saturday and up 52 from the prior week.

Of the patients in the hospital, 154 were in intensive care units, up seven from Saturday and up three from the prior week. Twenty percent of Illinois’ ICU beds were available, the same as the prior week.

There were 37 patients on ventilators, down five from Saturday and down 11 from the prior week.

Fifty-eight counties are now at a “high” community level of COVID-19, the level at which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people mask indoors in public spaces. Thirty-six counties are at a “medium” risk level.

The Department of Public Health reported 3,341 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths on Monday. The new cases bring the state total to 3,542,799, while the death toll remains at 34,319.

The seven-day average for new cases on Monday was 5,077, up 452 from the prior week. The seven-day average for daily deaths is seven, down two from the prior week.

The seven-day case rate per 100,000 people is 39.8, up 3.5 from the prior week.

Illinois vaccinators have administered 22,926,431 COVID-19 vaccines, including 4,668,051 booster doses. The seven-day average for doses administered is 12,827.
