The public comment period for the latest round of state Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives funding is now open.
Gov. JB Pritzker signed into law the historic, equity-driven Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives plan earlier this year. The program, which is administered by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, is designed to create partnerships and bring entities together to find innovative ways to bridge gaps in the healthcare delivery system and increase access to quality health care services in underserved communities throughout the state.
The application submission period for the fiscal year 2022 round of Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives funding ended in November, and any member of the public is now invited to provide comments to HFS about the applications the Department received.
HFS is notifying a range of health care providers, stakeholders and members of the public about the chance to offer input on the submitted applications using a comment form, which can be found here. The deadline for submitting comments is 5 p.m. Dec. 20.
Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives funding is meant for partnerships made up of multiple participating entities, which may include hospitals, medical providers, and non-medical providers of social services.
With support from federal matching funds, Illinois may invest up to $150 million annually in Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives. The first round of funding was awarded this summer, and the Department hopes to continue this program in future years with ongoing appropriations from the General Assembly.
More information about the Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives program can be found on the Department’s website: htc.illinois.gov.
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services administers the state’s Medicaid and child support programs, serving more than 3 million Illinois residents annually.
