The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,213 new COVID-19 cases and 34 deaths on Tuesday.
The new cases bring the state’s total to 1,688,261, while the death toll is 25,682.
The seven-day average for new cases is 2,131, down 66 from a week ago. The seven-day average for daily deaths is 27, down two from the prior week.
As of Monday, 1,230 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, up 32 from Sunday and down 196 from the prior week.
Of the patients in the hospital, 326 were in the ICU, down 22 from Sunday and down six from the prior week. There were 150 patients on ventilators, up nine from Sunday and down 23 from the prior week.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 1.9 percent. The seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 2.2 percent.
About 81.1 percent of eligible Illinoisans ages 12 and older have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 63.5 percent are fully vaccinated.
Illinois vaccinators have administered 15,343,270 COVID-19 vaccines, per state data. The seven-day average of doses administered is 36,052.
