Survey: Families with children with special healthcare needs lose $18,000 annually in wages
American families of children with special healthcare needs lost an estimated average of $18,000 a year in household income due to reduced work hours or having to leave a job in order to care for their children’s health, according to a recent survey by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
