The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 933 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 1,376,411.
It’s the first time since last July the state has recorded less than 1,000 cases on consecutive days.
The seven-day average for new cases is 1,318, compared to 1,546 the prior week.
The state’s death toll is at 22,633 after 10 more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 2.2 percent, down 0.2 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 2.7 percent, a 0.2 percent decrease from last week.
There were 33,010 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 24,266,277 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 1,393 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 119 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 334 were in the ICU and 180 patients were on ventilators, the latter down 40 from last week.
Twenty-eight percent of Illinois’ 32,100 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Twenty-five percent of the state’s 3,301 ICU beds were available as were 68 percent of the state’s 5,641 ventilators.
A total of 10,940,769 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 76,133 doses, with 36,358 administered Sunday. Doses administered at CVS pharmacies over the weekend have not yet been reported and will be added in the coming days.
