Nearly 38 percent of Illinoisans now fully vaccinated

Close to 38 percent of Illinoisans are now fully vaccinated, according to recent data from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

A total of 10,433,777 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered as of Monday night. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 56,593 doses, with 25,936 doses administered on Monday.

That number does not include doses administered at pharmacies due to server issues. Those numbers will be added to IDPH’s Wednesday report.

The department reported 1,495 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the state’s total to 1,368,709.

The state’s death toll is at 22,466 after 21 more deaths were reported on Tuesday.

The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 2.3 percent, down 0.5 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 2.8 percent, a 0.5 percent decrease from last week.

There were 58,222 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 23,904,959 tests have been processed.

As of Monday night, 1,503 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 427 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 407 were in the ICU and 234 patients were on ventilators, the latter down 27 from last week.

Thirty percent of Illinois’ 32,123 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Twenty-six percent of the state’s 3,382 ICU beds were available as were 75 percent of the state’s 5,642 ventilators.
