The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 946 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the lowest single-day number in over two months.
The new cases bring the state’s total to 1,367,214. The 946 cases are the lowest since 782 were reported on March 15.
The state’s death toll is at 22,445 after six more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 2.4 percent, down 0.4 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 2.9 percent, a 0.5 percent decrease from last week.
There were 33,148 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 23,846,737 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 1,512 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 394 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 398 were in the ICU and 220 patients were on ventilators, the latter down 22 from last week.
Thirty-one percent of Illinois’ 32,038 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Twenty-seven percent of the state’s 3,381 ICU beds were available as were 76 percent of the state’s 5,641 ventilators.
A total of 10,407,841 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 61,275 doses, with 32,253 doses administered on Sunday.
