The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,841 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the state’s total to 1,363,507.
The state’s death toll is at 22,369 after 49 more deaths were reported on Friday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 2.5 percent. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 3.1 percent.
There were 83,624 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 23,677,720 tests have been processed.
As of Thursday night, 1,708 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those patients, 425 were in the ICU and 237 patients were on ventilators.
A total of 10,229,330 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 72,767 doses, with 50,326 doses administered on Thursday.
