IDPH reports 3,207 new COVID-19 cases, 33 deaths
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,207 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the state’s total to 1,335,055.
The state’s death toll is at 21,960 after 33 more deaths were reported on Friday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 3.4 percent, down 0.2 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 4 percent, a 0.3 percent decrease from last week.
There were 108,063 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of22,666,333 tests have been processed.
As of Thursday night, 2,024 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 88 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 475 were in the ICU and 235 patients were on ventilators, the latter up five from last week.
Twenty-six percent of Illinois’ 32,282 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Twenty percent of the state’s 3,386 ICU beds were available as were 76 percent of the state’s 5,716 ventilators.
A total of 9,259,706 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 92,747 doses, with 103,717 doses administered on Thursday.
There have been 11,687,325 doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered to Illinois providers, including in Chicago.
