Thirty percent of Illinoisans now fully vaccinated
Over 30 percent of Illinoisans are now fully vaccinated, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
About 30.6 percent, or 3,899,653, of Illinoisans are fully vaccinated, with the state surpassing 9 million total vaccines administered on Wednesday.
A total of 9,048,300 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 100,823 doses, with 106,173 doses administered on Tuesday.
There have been 11,322,205 doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered to Illinois providers, including in Chicago.
The department reported 2,782 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state’s total to 1,328,454.
The state’s death toll is at 21,891 after 33 more deaths were reported on Wednesday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 3.4 percent, down 0.4 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 4.1 percent, a 0.3 percent decrease from last week.
There were 87,698 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 22,469,213 tests have been processed.
As of Tuesday night, 2,154 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 37 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 502 were in the ICU and 238 patients were on ventilators, the latter up one from last week.
Twenty-five percent of Illinois’ 32,334 hospital beds were available as of Wednesday morning. Twenty-one percent of the state’s 3,389 ICU beds were available as were 76 percent of the state’s 5,723 ventilators.
