The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,369 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the state’s total to 1,316,091.
The state’s death toll is at 21,777 after 22 more deaths were reported on Friday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 3.6 percent, down 0.6 percent from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 4.3 percent, a 0.6 percent decrease from last week.
There were 104,795 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 22,113,490 tests have been processed.
As of Thursday night, 2,112 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 54 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 506 were in the ICU and 230 patients were on ventilators, the latter up 25 from last week.
Twenty-six percent of Illinois’ 32,332 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Twenty-one percent of the state’s 3,386 ICU beds were available as were 75 percent of the state’s 5,716 ventilators.
A total of 8,610,478 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 118,741 doses, with 136,525 doses administered on Wednesday.
There have been 10,802,075 doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered to Illinois providers, including in Chicago.
