House signs off on plan to consider healthy equity impact of hospital closures
The House approved a proposal late Thursday night by Rep. Lamont Robinson, D-Chicago, requiring that the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board consider the impact on health equity and health disparities when voting on any facility or service discontinuation. The board may deny any project if the plan would “plausibly increase” health disparities.
