The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,156 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total to 1,120,528.
The state’s death toll is at 19,138 after 71 more deaths were reported on Friday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 4.3 percent, a 0.7 percent drop from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 5.4 percent, a 0.8 percent decrease from last week.
There were 111,057 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 15,844,619 tests have been processed.
As of Thursday night, 2,735 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 444 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 532 were in the ICU and 297 patients were on ventilators, the latter a decrease of 51 from last week.
Thirty percent of Illinois’ 32,630 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Twenty-six percent of the state’s 3,332 ICU beds were available as were 76 percent of the state’s 5,676 ventilators.
There have been 1,304,475 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been delivered to Illinois providers, including in Chicago. An additional 496,100 doses have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities.
A total of 887,845 vaccines have been administered, including 131,401 for long-term care facilities. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is approximately 38,738 doses.
