The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,699 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total to 905,069.
The state’s death toll is at 15,299 after 98 more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 7.5 percent, a 1.2 percent decrease from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 9.3 percent, a 1 percent decrease from last week.
There were 86,454 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 12,520,979 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 4,460 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 491 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 981 were in the ICU and 546 patients were on ventilators, the latter a decrease of 75 from last week.
Thirty-one percent of Illinois’ 32,377 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Twenty-four percent of the state’s 3,286 ICU beds were available as were 73 percent of the state’s 5,691 ventilators.
