The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 12,542 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 738,846.
The state’s death toll is at 12,403 after 125 more deaths were reported on Tuesday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 10.4 percent, the same as last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 12.2 percent, a 0.2 percent decrease from last week.
There were 116,081 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 10,614,079 tests have been processed.
As of Monday night, 5,835 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 299 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 1,195 were in the ICU and 721 patients were on ventilators., the latter an increase of 53 from last week.
Twenty-five percent of Illinois’ 32,716 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Twenty-one percent of the state’s 3,307 ICU beds were available as were 67 percent of the state’s 5,650 ventilators.
