The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 6,190 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total to 726,304.
The state’s death toll is at 12,278 after 85 more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 10.2 percent, a 0.7 percent decrease from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 12.2 percent, a 0.5 percent decrease from last week.
There were 66,980 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 10,497,998 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 5,849 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 322 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 1,217 were in the ICU and 715 patients were on ventilators.
Twenty-eight percent of Illinois’ 32,717 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Twenty-three percent of the state’s 3,306 ICU beds were available as were 70 percent of the state’s 5,656 ventilators.
