IDPH reports 9,469 new COVID-19 cases, 125 deaths
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 9,469 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 674,089.
The state’s death toll is at 11,677 after 125 more deaths were reported on Tuesday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 10.4 percent, a 2.1 percent decrease from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 12.4 percent, a 2.1 percent decrease from last week.
There were 97,323 tests processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 9,990,304 tests have been processed.
As of Monday night, 6,134 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 247 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 1,203 were in the ICU and 668 patients were on ventilators.
Twenty-six percent of Illinois’ 32,443 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Twenty-one percent of the state’s 3,287 ICU beds were available as were 68 percent of the state’s 5,665 ventilators.
