The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 13,012 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total to 634,395.
The state’s death toll is at 11,304 after 126 more deaths were reported on Friday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 11.5 percent, a 1.7 percent decrease from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 13.4 percent, a 1.1 percent decrease from last week.
A new single-day high of 116,024 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. A total of 9,588,698 tests have been processed.
As of Thursday night, 6,111 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 749 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 1,196 were in the ICU and 604 patients were on ventilators.
Twenty-five percent of Illinois’ 32,862 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Nineteen percent of the state’s 3,313 ICU beds were available as were 70 percent of the state’s 5,657 ventilators.
