The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 11,632 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total to 585,248.
The state’s death toll is at 10,779 after 37 more deaths were reported on Monday.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate for cases as a percent of total tests is 12.5 percent, a 1.1 percent increase from last week. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity using the number of COVID-19 positive tests over total tests is 14.7 percent, a 2.3 percent increase from last week.
There were 90,612 more tests processed during the past day. A total of 9,161,453 tests have been processed.
As of Sunday night, 5,581 Illinoisans were in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 1,172 from last week. Of the patients in the hospital this week, 1,144 were in the ICU and 514 patients were on ventilators.
Thirty-two percent of Illinois’ 34,913 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Thirty-three percent of the state’s 3,753 ICU beds were available as were 73 percent of the state’s 5,722 ventilators.
