DPH: 1,362 COVID-19 cases, 23 more deaths in Illinois

There were 1,362 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Tuesday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 291,001.

The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 23 additional deaths Tuesday, bringing the total number to 8,637.

A total of 45,624 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. The total number of completed tests is 5,566,276.

The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.6 percent, a 0.1 percent decrease from Monday.

Thirty-eight percent of Illinois’ 35,008 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Forty-one percent of the state’s 3,792 ICU beds were available as were 79 percent of the state’s 5,746 ventilators.
