UChicago Medicine, in partnership with Solis Mammography, opens two new breast health centers

Solis Mammography, the nation’s largest independent provider of breast health and diagnostic services, is expanding access to 3D mammography and diagnostic breast health procedures through a partnership with University of Chicago Medicine.

As the provider of choice for generations of women, Solis Mammography is known as the home of the “peace of mind mammogram.” Now, as part of a partnership with the South Side academic health system, patient experience is combined with clinical excellence to deliver a better mammogram for patients.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in the Chicago area, serving more women with essential mammography and breast health services,” said Grant Davies, president and chief executive officer of Solis Mammography. “In partnership with UChicago Medicine, we are able to provide world-class breast care in state-of-the-art facilities.”

The new Solis Mammography sites will operate within UChicago Medicine’s Orland Park and River East outpatient locations.

Staffed with UChicago Medicine radiologists who specialize in comprehensive breast care and technologists who have with expertise in breast imaging, the new mammography centers use up-to-the-minute breast health practices and technologies to provide exceptional care. This includes screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and bone density screenings in a spa-like environment designed for patient care, convenience, and comfort.

“Adding Solis Mammography’s services to our River East and Orland Park locations continues our health system’s efforts to bring important services closer to where our patients live and work,” said Hiroyuki Abe, MD, PhD, a professor of radiology at the University of Chicago and chief of breast imaging at UChicago Medicine. “Now more than ever it’s important people feel safe when they go to a medical appointment so they can continue to get important screenings and other preventative care.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, heightened safety procedures are in effect. These include screening all Solis Mammography staff and patients at the time of arrival, requiring face masks for all patients, regularly cleaning all surfaces, and requiring social distancing during appointments except at the point of care. Clinical staff are also required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including masks.

Patients can schedule a screening appointment online, enjoy quick in-center tablet registration, and receive emailed results within two business days for screening mammograms. To learn more about Solis Mammography or to book an appointment online, visit www.solismammo.com.
