DPH: 2,120 COVID-19 cases, 20 more deaths in Illinois

There were 2,120 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Friday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 270,327.

The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 20 additional deaths Friday, bringing the total number to 8,411.

A total of 61,918 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. The total number of completed tests is 4,982,856.

The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.6 percent.

Thirty-five percent of Illinois’ 34,692 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Thirty-eight percent of the state’s 3,769 ICU beds were available as were 78 percent of the state’s 5,727 ventilators.
