DPH: 1,941 COVID-19 cases, 35 more deaths in Illinois

There were 1,941 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Wednesday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 266,151.

The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 35 additional deaths Wednesday, bringing the total number to 8,367.

A total of 52,311 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. The total number of completed tests is 4,863,138.

The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.7 percent, a 0.1 percent increase from Tuesday.

Thirty-six percent of Illinois’ 34,684 hospital beds were available as of Wednesday morning. Thirty-nine percent of the state’s 3,770 ICU beds were available as were 78 percent of the state’s 5,731 ventilators.
