There were 2,145 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Friday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 257,788.
The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 32 additional deaths Friday, bringing the total number to 8,273.
A total of 56,661 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. The total number of completed tests is 4,632,382.
The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.9 percent, a 0.1 percent increase from Thursday.
Thirty-seven percent of Illinois’ 34,629 hospital beds were available as of Friday morning. Forty-two percent of the state’s 3,756 ICU beds were available as were 78 percent of the state’s 5,730 ventilators.
