DPH: 1,392 COVID-19 cases, seven more deaths in Illinois

There were 1,392 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Tuesday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 252,353.

The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported seven additional deaths Tuesday, bringing the total number to 8,186.

A total of 31,363 tests were processed over the past 24 hours. The total number of completed tests is 4,478,710.

The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 4 percent.

Forty-two percent of Illinois’ 34,800 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Forty-seven percent of the state’s 3,806 ICU beds were available as were 78 percent of the state’s 5,701 ventilators.
