DPH: 1,231 COVID-19 cases, 18 more deaths in Illinois

There were 1,231 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 172,655.

The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 18 additional deaths Monday, bringing the state’s total to 7,416.

A total of 30,567 tests were processed, bringing the total number of completed tests to 2,542,134. The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.8 percent, an increase of 0.8 percent from last week.

Forty-one percent of Illinois’ 35,068 hospital beds were available as of Monday morning. Forty-four percent of the state’s 3,801 ICU beds were available as were 79 percent of the state’s 5,770 ventilators.
