There were 955 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Illinois on Tuesday, bringing the state’s total number to 163,703 confirmed cases.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 23 additional deaths Tuesday, bringing the state’s total to 7,324.
A total of 29,745 tests were processed, bringing the total number of completed tests to 2,308,854. The positivity rate for tests over the past seven days is 3.1 percent.
The number of new cases is down from the 1,173 confirmed cases reported Monday, though that can partially be attributed to a decrease of roughly 5,000 total processed tests.
Forty-one percent of Illinois’ 35,114 hospital beds were available as of Tuesday morning. Forty-six percent of the state’s 3,919 ICU beds were available as were 79 percent of the state’s 5,736 ventilators.
