Seven Illinois groups receive $2 million for telehealth services

Seven Illinois groups will receive more than $2 million from the Federal Communications Commission to bolster their telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency announced last week.

The funding is authorized by the CARES Act. So far, the federal agency has approved $105 million for 305 healthcare providers in 42 states and Washington, D.C.

“We will continue processing applications as quickly as we can in order to promote worthy telehealth projects across the country,” said commission Chairman Ajit Pai.
