Seven Illinois groups will receive more than $2 million from the Federal Communications Commission to bolster their telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency announced last week.
The recipients include:
- $130,401 for Access Community Health Network in Chicago
- $48,591 for Legacy Medical Care in Arlington Heights
- $1 million for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare
- $393,575 for PCC Community Wellness Center in Oak Park
- $260,517 for PrimeCare West in Chicago
- $242,600 for Southern Illinois Hospital Services in Carbondale
- $1,468 for Leyden Family Health Service and Mental Health Center in Franklin Park
The funding is authorized by the CARES Act. So far, the federal agency has approved $105 million for 305 healthcare providers in 42 states and Washington, D.C.
“We will continue processing applications as quickly as we can in order to promote worthy telehealth projects across the country,” said commission Chairman Ajit Pai.
