Shirley Ryan Ability Lab plans $11.9 million expansion

Chicago’s Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is planning a nearly $12 million expansion that would add 20 beds to the existing 242 beds at its rehabilitation facility.

An application was recently filed with the Health Facilities and Services Review Board, which will have to approve the project before work can begin. It is tentatively scheduled to go before the board at its June 4 meeting.

“We look forward to serving even more patients once appropriate approvals have been obtained and our expansion project is complete,” said Shirley Ryan spokesperson Meg Washburn.
