Illinoisans spend nearly 10 percent of income on healthcare

Insurance premiums and deductibles eat up nearly 9.5 percent of annual income, on average, for Illinois residents, according to a new report from the Commonwealth Fund. But Illinoisans spend less than the rest of the country, which averages 12 percent.
