Rauner signs bill aimed at boosting physician assistants
Gov. Bruce Rauner signed legislation Friday that supporters say will increase the number of physician assistants in the state. The law increases how many physician assistants can enter into a collaborative agreement with doctors from five to seven, and eliminates the ratio in certain areas that the federal government determines have a shortage of health professionals.
