Medicaid plans move towards support of hospital assessment legislation

Lawmakers and other officials working on a proposal to renew the state’s hospital assessment program have eased the concerns of the Illinois Association of Medicaid Health Plans. Executive Director Samantha Olds Frey said at a hearing earlier this month that her group was set to oppose the bill if it didn’t include provisions on rate transparency.
